AUO: 19" widescreen to account for 10% of monitor market in 2006.

The popularity of 19" widescreen LCD montiors will continue growing through the rest of this year, with the segment expected to acocunt for 15% of LCD monitor shipments in the fourth quarter, and 10% for the whole year, according to Hsiung Hui, executive vice president of AU Optronics (AUO). Although 19" widescreen models have a lower resolution than 20" widescreen models and are less ideal for presenting two A4-size pages side by side on-screen, Hsiung said the lower prices for 19" widescreen models will drive demand for the segment.

Nvidia intros 320 MB 8800 GTS model.
Santa Clara (CA) - Nvidia today announced a new version of its 8800 series of graphics cards. The new GTS version comes with the 500 MHz core clock and the 1600 MHz memory clock of the GTS models currently available in the market, but integrates only half the memory - 320 MB instead of 640 MB.

Samsung demos 4G wireless technology.
Samsung has shown off its fourth generation wireless technology by sending data to a speeding bus. At a wireless technology conference in Jeju South Korea, the company demonstrated multi-megabyte/sec speed transfers to a refrigerator-sized receiver. Samsung claims the prototype can receive data at up to 100 Mb/s.
