Emirates Computers Bags "Best Security Project" Award From EMC

The company was awarded the largest IT security project implementation in the EMEA region. DUBAI, UAE, December 06, 2008 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Emirates Computers announced that it has won EMC"s "Best Security Project" Award at the EMC Europe South annual awards function that was held in Marrakech, Morocco recently. Emirates Computers was chosen for this accolade for its CCTV storage project for Dubai Airports Company (DAC) which involved implementation of EMC CLARiiON CX3 networked storage systems. The value of the project was approximately AED 22 million, making it the largest project of its type across the EMEA region. The objective of the CCTV storage project for Dubai Airports Company (DAC) was to deliver continuous actionable intelligence to the company"s staff to address any security issue by assisting in facility security, operational support, monitoring sensitive areas and retrieving potentially critical footage. Emirates Computers implemented EMC"s CLARiiON networked storage systems configured with 3PB (Petabytes) or 3,000,000GB (Gigabytes) for DAC, which would provide the necessary reliability and scalability to store massive amounts of image and video data, which is continuously supplied by the 1800 CCTV cameras in and around the concourse, terminal and other high priority areas.
