Honeywell sues Apple, Sony, Toshiba over LCDs.

Honeywell said it is suing 34 companies over alleged infringement of its LCD patents. Philips and Samsung have already acknowledged the Honeywell patents and have licensed the technology. The patent increases the brightness of images, reducing interference effects on LCD displays.

TFT LCD equipment market growth to slow, says research firm.
While the worldwide market for array processing equipment for TFT-LCDs grew 34 percent to reach $4.2 billion in 2004, a combination of several factors will drop the growth rate to only 3 percent in 2005, according to a recent report from The Information Network, a US-based market research company.

They were pretty neat for their time, but by no means very good. They were troublesome to get working properly and game support was pretty flaky as well.
