Infineon and Rambus kiss and make up.

Infineon and Rambus have decided to stop all ongoing legal action and sort out a licensing agreement. The two have been in court alleging patent infringments and worse since the late twentieth century. Earlier this month Rambus had its claim for patent infringements against Infineon thrown out of court. Rambus was accused of shredding key documents ahead of court hearings, the judge agreed and dismissed Rambus"s case against Infineon.

DRAM makers expansion may advance with ease of equipment supply.

DRAM makers may see their expansion projects complete ahead of schedule as tight supply of equipment is easing amid a more conservative change in pure-play foundries" attitudes towards capacity expansion, according to industry sources. A previously rosy outlook for the semiconductor industry sent DRAM makers and pure-play foundries increasing their orders for equipment for capacity expansion.

Stuttgart (Germany) - Mercedes-Benz today announced its two first hybrid vehicles, both of which will be using conventional lithium-ion batteries, as opposed to nickel-metal versions that are used for example in the Toyota Prius or the upcoming Porsche Cayenne Hybrid .
