Nvidia: Integrated chipset shortage to push graphics card sales.

Demand for mainstream graphics card recently began picking up, driven by Intel"s integrated chipset shortage according to Paul Sun, general manager of Nvidia Taiwan Sales. The rising demand is expected to contribute an additional one million graphics card shipments to the industry every month in the second half of this year, Sun said.

Nvidia to reveal new plans by end-1Q while ATI schedules new southbridge.
Nvidia will announce its new operational plans after taking over Taiwan-based chipset maker ULi Electronics by the end of the first quarter, 2006, according to the company. ATI Technologies, in the meantime, is preparing new replacement southbridge chips for when ULi suspends its supply, sources at Taiwan motherboard makers hinted.
