Organic Molecules Found On Far-away Planet.

Pasadena (CA) - Astronomers believe methane could be on a far-away planet in the Vulpecula constellation. The organic molecule showed up after scientists aimed the Hubble Space Telescope at planet HD189733b after it had passed in front of a star. Methane can combine with water to form amino acids, the basic building blocks of life. However, this is unlikely to occur in this planet because it roasts at 1700 degrees Fahrenheit because it orbits just three million miles away from its star. Last year, scientists announced that they had found water vapor on the same planet. NY Times.

Second Life developer Linden Labs released a few numbers last week, revealing that its users have spent one billion hours socializing and building the virtual world. Unlike most MMORPGs, Second Life isn"t necessarily a task-oriented game, nor does it offer any kind of role-playing elements. Samsung today said that it will invest 1.76 trillion South Korean Won (approximately $1.72 billion) to complete the second phase of its 7G LCD panel fab. While the first stage of its "7-1" line has a capacity to process 60,000 glass substrates a month, 7-2 will add 45,000 in the first half of 2006 and another 45,000 in the second half of next year.
