Philips announces Blu-ray burner.

Philips is the next in line to announce a Blu-ray PC drive. The company said that it will be intorducing the 2x writer, which will be able to write and read 25 GB and 50 GB Blu-ray media. Philips" drive will be joining the Blu-ray parade - which includes already announced drives from Samsung, Sony and Pioneer - in August and sell for around $1000 at launch. There is more! Windows 98, Me support to end in July.
Microsoft has officially begun requesting that users running Windows 98, 98 SE and Millennium Edition (Me) upgrade their operating system as soon as possible. The Redmond company will cease all public and technical support for the products on July 11, 2006, including all security updates.
