Samsung pulls ahead in DRAM sales.

Semiconductor research analysts released their third quarter market share figures for DRAM showing that revenues remained almost static in the third quarter. Revenues worldwide only grew by 0.2 per cent compared to the previous quarter, but were 39.7 per cent up compared to the same quarter last year.

DRAM contract prices drop 10 percent.
DRAM chipmakers anticipating stable February prices are in for a disappointment as contract prices are being negatively affected by a larger-than-expected drop in demand from international PC OEMs, and contract prices have fallen 10% since the latter part of January, sources said yesterday.
