SoftwareSecurity experts Tall Emu and Emsi Software announce a Technology Partnership
Cooperation instead of competition: Emsi Software in Austria and Tall Emu in Australia have announced a new and very close technology partnership.
SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA, March 12, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Both companies produce security software and have such a similar orientation and philosophy in this area that cooperation offers only advantages to both sides. The first result of this is that a-squared Free is now immediately available for downloading bundled together with the Online Armor Free firewall.
Salzburg/Sydney, March 2009 - Emsi Software in Austria (http://www.emsisoft.com/) specializes in the development of high-quality security. The program a-squared Anti-Malware 4.0 uses a dual engine that allows reliable detection of Viruses, Spyware, Bots, Trojans and other similar damaging Malware. The program currently recognizes 2.8 million different types of damaging software. Mamutu 1.7 provides behavior-based Malware protection and exposes damaging software based solely on their behavior in the computer. This provides defense against dangers so new that no signature-based protection programs are aware of them. The a-squared Free 4.0 protection software is available for free. This program scans the entire computer system, lists any threats that already exist in the system and allows them to be immediately eliminated.
Tall Emu in Australia (http://www.tallemu.com/) is also active in the security sector and provides an excellent enhancement to the Emsi Software product portfolio. Online Armor Personal Firewall v3 monitors the Internet connection and prevents hackers or damaging software from secretly accessing the system via the connection. The program also protects its own identity and protects the user from espionage when performing online banking and making online purchases. Online Armor Free can be used free of charge but does not yet offer individual modules from its big brother such as the online banking mode or the phishing filter.
Emsi Software and Tall Emu have now announced a new close technology partnership. Christian Mairoll from Emsi Software says: "Physical distances no longer play a role in the IT business. In fact, exactly the opposite is true, we have discovered that Emsi Software and Tall Emu lie very close to each other in many areas and complement each other perfectly. We have therefore decided that we will be more strongly represented together rather than individually. We have planned many new activities for the 2009 business year."
Tall Emu"s CEO Mike Nash couldn"t agree more "The best thing about the partnership is that it"s not just an SDK or Bundling arrangement. There"s a huge degree of trust and co-operation between us - Christian and I got to know each other over the course of several months, prior to negotiating the agreement. This close collaboration is going to deliver great results for the users. Existing players in the security industry take note: We"re going to eat your lunch"
a-squared Free bundled with Online Armor Free
The first sign of this new cooperation has already been set. Both companies now bundle their software and offer them as a package. This means that a-squared Free is now provided together with Online Armor Free. Every user downloading the free Australian firewall is now also offered an Austrian Virus scanner with Spyware protection - and vice-versa.
Christian Mairoll says: "We have also created a discounted bundle containing the full versions of a-squared Anti-Malware and Online Armor Personal Firewall. Those purchasing both products in a set receive a 30 percent discount and will save around 30 Euros for the 3-way package."
Details are available at: http://www.emsisoft.com/en/order/antimalware/
Both manufacturers have many future plans, since they are not only hoping for an exchange of technical knowledge but also synergies resulting from an increase in the market profile of both brands. Tall Emu has also now completed a licensing deal with Emsi and will soon implement the a-squared double-engine in their own firewall product.
